Chippewa Valley GRACE is a collaboration of Catholic laity and clergy in the Chippewa Valley to address effects of clergy sexual abuse in our community. What began simply as a conversation among individuals looking for healing has grown into a cooperative effort guided by faith to renew, assist, communicate, and encourage.
The Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Chippewa Valley GRACE seeks healing and renewal from the scourge of sexual abuse on the part of clergy and others in the Church. Through listening, compassion, prayer, and education on trauma and its effects, we seek to create a welcoming environment for all those who have been affected. We also aim to bring about a greater awareness of sexual abuse by promoting ongoing conversation and dialogue within our community. We believe that true healing and renewal is only found in Christ who always renews and heals his Church.
We seek acceptance of the past, openness in the present and prevention in the future.
